The term 'noise pollution' is now well-known to everyone, especially in industry. When a vibrating screen is in operation, its inherent characteristics require vibration to achieve screening during normal operation. However, vibrating screens are the fundamental cause of noise generation, with high sound levels, multiple and complex sound sources. How can we effectively reduce the noise of vibrating screens?
Recently, after conducting multi-point and multi-directional noise and vibration tests on the vibrating screen, we found that its noise spectrum exhibits broadband characteristics of low and medium frequencies, and its sound level also increases with the increase of vibration frequency and amplitude, making it one of the main noise sources in coal preparation plants. For this purpose, they conducted analysis of the noise sources of vibrating screens and research on noise reduction measures.
Powder metering system
Firstly, by analyzing the main noise sources such as the sieve plate, side plate, exciter bearings, and steel springs used on the vibrating screen, we propose the following noise reduction measures:
① Tighten all components on the vibrating screen, especially the screen plate that needs to be replaced frequently, to avoid additional vibration caused by the loosening of individual components;
② Replace the perforated steel sieve plate with a polyurethane sieve plate or rubber sieve plate with a lower elastic modulus and lower impact noise;
③ In the design of the screen box structure, the stiffness of the side plates should be taken into account when using two-layer rubber linear screens and plastic components. Suitable stiffness should be used to reduce vibration and thus reduce mid to low frequency noise waves.
Rubber plates are added to the side plates, feeding ports, discharging ports, and receiving chassis of the screen box to effectively suppress high-frequency vibrations of the side plates and reduce radiated noise; Using flexible disc gears instead of steel gears, that is, using rubber elastic material to transmit torque on the disc of the gear and absorb the vibration caused by gear meshing in and out; Replace steel springs with wider rubber cloth to reduce impact; Install a soft soundproof cover outside the exciter; Damping treatment can be applied between the inner and outer sleeves of the bearing. The rolling elements of the bearing can be made into hollow rolling elements or damping materials can be added inside the hollow rolling elements, which can reduce the vibration screen and noise of the bearing.
